As a Professional Canadian Guide, outdoor television host, and award-winning outdoor videographer, I've tried many different types and styles of shooting sticks. A few months back I received a pair of BOG-PODS, and they are simply awesome!
I personally prefer for most of my big game hunting the tripod model, although I've found the quick little bipod terrific for varmint hunting. With tough, sturdy leg's that are attached to a head that rotates 360 degrees, and a third leg (on the tripod model) that is part of the head and not an afterthought, the unit makes for one really solid shooting platform. Whether it be the monopod, bipod, or the tripod model, BOG-POD shooting sticks are well thought out shooting systems that allow the shooter to have side to side movements with great ease. The head tension and rotation can also easily be adjusted by either tightening or loosening one simple allen head screw.
BOGgear's BOG-POD shooting sticks also can be adjusted from a mere 18- 20 inches - for sitting behind, all the way up to accommodate the very tallest hunter in a standing position. Finally, I really like the marked increments on the second leg sections. This feature enables me to adjust the legs very quickly, and go right to my pre-determined personal settings. What a simple, yet terrific idea!
So, whether I'm guiding clients, making long shots on "call-shy" coyotes, or even just resting the camera for some kick butt video footage, you won't catch me in the field without a set of BOG-POD shooting sticks by BOGgear. They will absolutely improve your odds of getting what you're after too!
Good Hunting ...
